Harry Donovan and Aaron Laxton passed their foundation amateur radio licence exam and now have the call signs M6HZD and M6XAY respectively. 16 year old Aaron is keen to practise his French when speaking to radio enthusiasts across the channel and Harry is looking forward to making radio contacts across the world.
The club is hoping to recruit some more young members with a showcase visit to the Tinker Society of the University of Kent. They will see the amazing capabilities of digital amateur radio when connected to computers and the simple enjoyment of radio communications, the first social network. The students have a radio officer and they are keen to set up a radio station.
