How many hams does it take to light an LED?
The Hilderstone radio club enjoyed a stimulating demonstration on the many ways to construct a circuit to light an LED. An exciting new method of combining components using blocks, called DitroniX, was shown.
The members thought it would be useful in schools and colleges. Clive Widdus showed how to light LEDs using conducting dough which is suitable for young children learning electronics. Other methods used connecting wire, a breadboard (not the wooden kind!) and microprocessors such as the Arduino. The members wanted to learn more so next year we will have a special day of circuit building and coding. Everyone was impressed with the new Raspberry Pi Zero, a versatile computer for only £5!
