G0HRS Hilderstone radio amateur club took part in Crampton Tower Hobbies Weekend on 20th and 21st April. The club set up a radio station consisting of a Yaesu FT897d, Icom 703 and a comet 250B antenna system, demonstrating data modes and CW throughout the weekend.
Peter G0KOK brought various types of Morse keys including his specially produced key number 50 of 250 in celebration of RSGB 100 year centenary. At the club meeting Dr Ken Smith gave a fascinating talk on the early telegraph system, the first ‘Internet’.
