They explained how they studied hard and gained confidence in speaking over the air waves as part of their foundation licence in order to speak to Tim. The amateur radio contact at Wellesley House school was a wonderful experience for both of them and they hope to take their qualification to the next stage of intermediate licence. Then it was Bradley Woollett’s turn to talk about his fascinating visit to the BBC studios in London. The Radio Society of Great Britain had invited amateur radio youngsters to Broadcasting House to see behind the scenes of transmitting TV and radio to the world. Bradley was impressed by the state of the art equipment and seeing the control room with the huge number of monitors. The members were encouraged by the enthusiasm of the youngsters and gave them rapturous applause.
