Radcom Report March 2015

The club enjoyed the hospitality of the Margate Lifeboat Station as part of the SOS Radio Week. They operated nearly every day of the week making many contacts in this country and abroad. Cadets from the Holy Trinity Sea Scouts sent a greetings message as the club was operating a special event station using the call sign GB1MLS. With the sponsorship of London Array they have been able to raise £300. The photo shows events organiser Ian Lowe G0PDZ with the cadets.
The club organised its first Radio Buildathon in which the members built the PSK31 receiver. It was a very successful event with everyone completing their project. For some it was their first time soldering but they were patiently guided by mentor and equipment officer Bob Fidler M0ZRF.
